Indication / Use:
Geftinat (Gefitinib) is indicated for:

The treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Particularly effective in patients whose tumors have epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations.

Mechanism of Action:
Gefitinib is an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It works by blocking signals involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells.

Dosage:
Typically one 250 mg tablet once daily, with or without food.

Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on individual tolerance and physician guidance.

Common Side Effects:
Diarrhea

Rash

Acne

Nausea

Fatigue

Loss of appetite

Dry skin

Precautions:
Liver function monitoring is advised.

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Patients with interstitial lung disease should use with caution.

Should not be used in patients allergic to Gefitinib or any of its components.
